Bill
has an extensive background in law enforcement and business having
served on both the Metropolitan Toronto Police Force and the Royal
Canadian Mounted Police and thereafter having owned and operated a
car dealership, fire safety business, building renovation business
and having been an insurance inspector and investigator. Bill has been
trained as a lie detector examiner and a breath analysis technician.
He is also a licensed pilot boat operator and avid motorcycle rider.
He is one of the few riders who have completed the Iron Butt challenge
to have ridden at least 1,000 miles of endurance riding in a 24 hour
period.
Bill
practises in most areas of litigation and sits as both and arbitrator
and a mediator. He has appeared at all levels of court up to the
Supreme Court of Canada and has appeared to conduct cases before
the Courts in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, New Brunswick and in
the State of Virginia.
As
a result of Bill's wide range of experience and his straightforward
attitude Bill brings an innovative, "outside the box"
and unique approach to every matter that he conducts.
Bill is equally comfortable
in Court, preparing in the office, conducting out of court examinations,
sitting as a decision maker or mediator, structuring corporate and
commercial organizations and reorganizations, and in contract drafting.
Bill has over eighteen years of experience practising law as defence
counsel and more than thirty five years of involvement in the criminal
justice system between his service as an investigator and police
officer and his service as legal counsel.
